The Sound of Movement with Marcelo Evelin | Jan 24th

On January 24, 2018 at 6pm, ISAC and La Bellone will welcome the Brasilian choreographer Marcelo Evelin at La Centrale. ISAC and La Bellone invite you to 'The Sound of Movement', a series of public rendezvous with international artists in the frame of their joint educational programme. Each artist is invited to share with the public a selection of five sound materials (rhythms, soundscapes, conversations, sounds or songs) that open up every a perspective on their artistic practices. The specificity of these meetings is thus listening to the itineraries of the invited artists, to open the practice of movement through sound.

Marcelo Evelin (b. 1962) is a Brazilian choreographer, researcher and performer, and one of the most preeminent names in dance, performance and political action in contemporary art. He was based in Amsterdam from 1986 to 2006, where he collaborated with professionals from different disciplines on projects for the stage, videos, music, installations and site-specific work with his company Demolition Inc. He currently divides his time between Europe and his hometown of Teresina in Brazil. The conversation will be moderated by Daniel Blanga-Gubbay in English
